Yuting Zhang brings expertise in artificial intelligence spanning computer vision, generative AI, and agentic systems, with a focus on making complex information more accessible. His work has evolved from developing AI systems that understand visual scenes and extract structured information from documents to more recent advances in large language models—particularly improving their memory capabilities—and building agentic AI systems. Through this journey, he witnessed how technology could either create barriers or break them down, depending on how thoughtfully it was designed and who had input in its development.
Kaili Du brings experience in internal medicine and public health, including specialized knowledge in obesity medicine. Her background spans from psychology to clinical practice, giving her insight into how mental and physical health intersect with social and educational factors. Through her work, she observed that health outcomes depend not just on medical care, but on whether people can access clear information, supportive environments, and practical tools for managing their well-being.
They founded Du-Zhang Foundation from their shared observation that the biggest challenges in health and technology aren't purely technical—they're about ensuring that innovations actually serve the communities that need them most. Their complementary expertise allows the foundation to approach problems from both sides: understanding what communities need and building practical solutions that work in the real world.
Du-Zhang Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity in the United States.
